Britain Warns About Risk of “Accidental War” Between Iran and U.S
Jeremy Hunt, the foreign minister of Britain warned about the risk of an accidental war between the United States and Iran.
On his trip to Brussels on Monday, Hunt told the reporters: “We are very worried about the risk of a conflict happening by accident with an escalation that is unintended on either side.”
Hunt stated that he will express Britain’s concerns with their European partners and Mike Pompeo.
Pompeo is the guest of the European Union’s foreign ministers’ meeting and they will discuss Iran in their session.
The foreign minister of Britain also stated that all sides must be vigilant so that Iran would not resume its nuclear activities.
Hunt invited all sides to a period of calm so that “everyone understands what the other side is thinking.”
Tehran recently announced that it will suspend two of its commitments under the nuclear agreement (JCPOA) and the United States has deployed aircraft careers and bombers to the region.
Washington has also increased its economic pressures on the Islamic Republic.
Iran’s supreme national security council issued a deadline of 60 days for Europe to comply with its promises.
The foreign ministers of Britain, France, and Germany announced that Europe does not accept any ultimatums.
