Pompeo: Iran Must Face More Pressure to Join the Negotiations
At the end of the two-day Warsaw summit, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the word’s pressure on Iran must increase so that Iran becomes part of the negotiations and not the problems.
In a brief press conference along with his Polish counterpart, Pompeo stated: “At no point in these two days did any country claim that Iran is not a problem, or its actions have not caused instability and insecurity in the region.” He added: “We can’t talk about the situation in Syria, Houthis in Yemen, Hezbollah in Lebanon, and various Shia groups without talking about Iran’s destructive influence and role.”
In response to a question about Mike Pence’s comments criticizing the European countries, Pompeo said: “Pressure and sanctions on Iran must increase in order to cut off the financial resources of terrorism, Qasem Soleimani (IRGC’s Qods force commander) and others."
