Araghchi: JCPOA Has Almost No Benefits for Iran

Abbas Araghchi, the vice president of the Islamic Republic says that due to the U.S sanctions, the JCPOA has almost no benefits for Iran.

Speaking at a seminar on nuclear cooperation between the Islamic Republic and the EU in Brussel, Araghchi added that if JCPOA has no benefits for Iran, it will not be kept alive.

He pointed out that the EU mechanism for continued trade with Iran has not been executed due to direct threats from the United States.

Araghchi’s comments come one day after Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of Iran’s nuclear energy organization, emphasized on expanding nuclear cooperation with the EU and said that Iran must alleviate regional and international concerns regarding peace and security.
