U.S and Britain’s Warn Iran Against Resuming Uranium Enrichment

U.S secretary of state Mike Pompeo and British foreign minister Jeremy Hunt warned Tehran against the consequences of resuming uranium enrichment in a joint press conference.

In the joint press conference in London, in response to a question about the possibility of war between the U.S and Iran, Pompeo said: “We are not that far from Churchill’s war room. Where Churchill faced an evil that threatened the entire world. The U.S and Britain support the Iranian people and we want them to be in peace.”

He also warned the European countries regarding INSTEX and said that if their dealings with Tehran goo beyond humanitarian aid they will face U.S sanctions.

Jeremy Hunt also described Tehran’s decision to limit compliance with JCPOA as very concerning and stated that Britain and the United States are cooperating closely to neutralize Iran’s destabilizing efforts in the region.

Meanwhile, a high-ranking official in the White House announced that soon more sanctions will be imposed against Iran.

Tim Morrison, President Trump’s special assistant, said in a press conference that “Washington’s work on imposing sanctions against Iran is not finished.”

He added: “Expect more sanctions very soon.”

This decision by the White House is in response to Iran’s decision to limit its compliance with the JCPOA.

Morrison stated: “This decision by Iran is nothing but blackmailing Europe.”

He went on to say that anyone who violated U.S sanctions against Iran “will be found and held responsible for their actions.”
